Our nursing recruitment division offers two exciting pathways: the Green Card and Student Visa programs. Job Profile

A Scheduler provides staffing coordination to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times. This position must work effectively with team members in ensuring that work is accomplished in a timely, effective, well organized, and safe manner, while focusing on delivering quality resident care. The position must also manage the resources that are available to them in their job.

What You'll Do

  • Take necessary steps to ensure that sufficient members of nursing staff are on duty at all times.
  • Create and follow the master staffing schedule.
  • Communicate continuously with facility administration or designee to ensure coordination of information and maintain accuracy of nursing schedule across multiple locations.
  • Create Nurse Staffing Information sheet and provides to all applicable locations.
  • Prepare daily staffing sheets with continual revisions as necessary.
  • Follow center policies and procedure for use of agency and in-house pool.
  • Complete a listing of vacant direct care positions for facility administration.
  • Follow process to align budget with actual hours and control labor.
  • Create Labor to budget analysis and provides to all applicable locations.
  • Follow established HPPD budget.
  • Ensure at least one other staff member is oriented to the Workforce Manger position in the event of vacation, sick leave, etc.
  • Perform all other general and/or specific administrative staffing duties required.
  • Create and maintain forms necessary for completion of Workforce Manager’s task.
  • Attend mandatory all staff in-services.
  • Respects the confidentiality and dignity of staff and residents.
  • Provide staffing sheets from day (days prior) and performs all necessary adjustments in the proper software.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.
  • Maintain and work within established departmental, center, and corporate policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement programs, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Promptly reports any suspected resident abuse, neglect or misappropriation to the DON/ED.

What Are We Looking For

  • Preferably a BS or BA in Business Administration or any related field.
  • Prior scheduling experience, preferably in healthcare.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Understanding of resident rights, care procedures and standards, within the scope of healthcare
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Ability and willingness to work harmoniously with all staff.
  • Must have patience, tact, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult people.
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible in new methods and principles, as well as willingness to incorporate them into existing practices.
  • Computer literacy and skills including Microsoft software including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Prior Scheduling software experience preferred.
  • Ability to openly communicate at all levels of the organization.

Work environment

  • May need to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays, when necessary.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.

  • Ability to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and ability to work effectively with staff and support agencies.
  • In good health and demonstrating emotional stability.
  • Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stresses of the position.

Communication (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)

  • Must possess excellent English communication skills.
